The Case-Shiller Index, an often cited barometer on the health of the housing market, released year-end data showing that prices were up in December for the seventh straight month. The Index covers only houses, not condos/coops, and looks at entire metro-areas as a whole. According to the report, the Washington area climbed .5% in December.
