Neighborhood Profile: H Street Corridor
The H Street Corridor is a unique and diverse neighborhood, blending the feel of historic DC with new and exciting shopping, food, and nightlife and affordable homes. There is a constant vibrancy with new businesses opening, new construction beginning, and new plans starting to take shape. The city expects that six 66-foot-long cars will be operating down H St. by 2013, helping connect the neighborhood to Union Station. There is little highrise residential development, so the neighborhood offers a community feel with its many townhomes. Many of the homes provide affordable opportunities for renovation loans, while many others are ready for you to move in. The H Street Corridor is in the Northeast quadrant of the District, east of Union Station. It is bounded by Second Street to the west, 15th Street to the east, G Street to the south, and, roughly, K Street to the north.
